Montreal Spring 2026 Practice Sessions — Event Page Copy
Spring 2026 Practice Sessions
Section titled “Spring 2026 Practice Sessions”Archived — early-stage discussion, supersededThis is the original brief and discussion notes from the initial build of the Practice Sessions page (Feb 2026). The page has since been built, iterated through multiple rounds, and published. This note reflects early thinking that was superseded. Do not treat as a reference for current copy or infrastructure decisions. For current state, see:

Discussion notes
Section titled “Discussion notes”Task: we need to create page copy and infrastructure for conducting the practice-sessions at Proto Studio in Montreal in March-June 2026. The schedule is here: practice-sessions The pricing is here: practice-sessions-pricing
Format: These practice sessions will be practice-oriented with minimum theory. They are ideal for people who want to practice Baseworks in person. Our vision of the role of teaching in Baseworks is that it’s not so much about actually teaching but more like guiding people through the practice and providing some feedback. Since the method is very consistent, after some exposure or some pre-study of programs such as Primer or other programs, the person understands what needs to be done but the teacher is guiding them through an experience.
These practice sessions will be open to:
- people who have completed certain Baseworks programs in the past (such as the Montreal Study Group)
- people who have sufficient athletic level/movement background to attend and engage without completing primer
Format
- The event page should give an overview of the program.
- We will design it in Elementor so it will have various sections and visuals
- it should contain a log in form so that people who are logged in, who are eligible to participate in practice sessions, should be able to book from there ( perhaps selecting the number of sessions they want to buy directly on the page - which can be adjusted in the cart)
- new people who have never done Baseworks and who don’t have the account on the website should be required to go through a simple multi-step form that is asking them about their experience - so that we can determine which program is the best for them. ( note that potentially a variation of this form could even eventually be placed on the landing page or some other page that helps people determine which program is the best )
- in terms of questions we were thinking things like:
- do you have a regular movement practice?
- How would you assess your athletic level? (on a scale)
- Can you hold your arms in the air for 20 seconds without feeling too tired?
- Can you hold a squat for 20 seconds, (not too deep), without feeling too tired?
- can you follow detailed movement instructions for one hour?
- in terms of questions we were thinking things like:
- if the person doesn’t seem like a good candidate for this program, we should direct them to the study group or Primer or to subscribe to our newsletter
infrastructure:
- we need to build a custom MU plugin to apply the pricing discount at checkout depending on the number of sessions to-be-purchased ( also a question to discuss - to implement this should we have a single product that can be purchased in multiple quantity?)
- we also need to build a booking interface. For example if people essentially purchase credit, for example they purchase the right to book four sessions, they should be able to select which session they attend. Maybe also we need to allow them to cancel, with maybe some kind of a cut out. we probably need to have a separate note to discuss this
Program ecosystem:
- we need to think about this in relation to the Baseworks.com/programs page, which needs to be updated to reflect all our educational-programs
- Another program running at the same time is the study group: smsg-2026-landing-page-copy ( we should also probably include various lectures we have done in the past )
Additional context:
- key concepts about the method: key-definitions. This does not need to be in any copy; that’s way too technical, but it shows the backbone of the message.
- directory contains various information about our target audience and feedback we get from people
