You emphasize that I need to try and perform movements “exactly as described” even if it seems different from what I’m used to. With no instructor around to correct me, how do I know if I am doing the movement “exactly as described”?

Hey, @eirin

We’re emphasizing that you should try to perform the movements exactly as we describe them. This effort is what matters the most. Because it requires analyzing how the movement is performed and attempting to consciously track its various aspects. This analysis and conscious tracking are normally absent when we perform well-learned and habitual movements.

We have separated the practical application into Key Points and Practice lessons to allow you to review all the details before attempting to perform the movement.

If anything is unclear in any particular Key Points or Practice lesson, please feel free to ask specific questions. You can also ask these questions during the live Q&As.

Otherwise, don’t overthink it too much! If there’s a particular pattern that you don’t get right from the start, or you cannot feel whether you are doing it right, it’s fine. It’s a process, and developing awareness and control needed to know whether you are doing it right is precisely the outcome we are working towards. The point is not to teach you to do these particular movements in a “correct” way, but to teach you skills to better understand and feel your movements in general.
