Companion text message (sent separately, same day) proposes an in-person weekday meeting and a podcast guest appearance, kept out of the email in case Proto colleagues read the thread.

Hi Nicholas,

Good to see you at the studio the other day. A few things below: our fall booking, a separate open day, and a follow-up from our conversation.

Fall Practice Sessions

We’d like to continue our Practice Sessions at Proto for the fall semester. Same format as the spring, guided practice, kept to Saturday mornings this time, 10:00 to 11:30, with a preference for Studio 1 wherever it’s open.

  • Sat Oct 3, 10:00–11:30, Studio 2 (Studio 1 looks taken that morning)
  • Sat Oct 10, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Oct 17, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Oct 24, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Oct 31, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Nov 7, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Nov 14, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sat Nov 21, 10:00–11:30, Studio 1
  • Sun Nov 29, 10:00–11:30, Studio 2 (Studio 1 has a class from 11:00)

The last Saturday of November is your anniversary event, so we’ve put our final session on the Sunday.

Open day, September 26

Separately, we’d like to book Studio 2 on Saturday September 26, 9:30 to 12:30, for an open day to introduce people to the fall programs. Your calendar shows Studio 2 free that morning, but please confirm on your end.

Rate

We very much appreciate being able to continue at the residency rate for both the sessions and the open day. If we could settle it in two separate month blocks as before, that would really help our cash flow. Please let us know if that’s still okay.

BRNet recap

When we spoke, I mentioned the conference we took part in at the University of Padova in Italy in June. Here’s the recap: https://baseworks.com/communications/brnet-2026-poster-and-panel-at-the-body-representation-network-meeting/

It was the Body Representation Network meeting, where Asia presented our research on body representation as something trainable through movement practice. Given how you’re thinking about movement, personal development and its relationship to how we communicate in society, I thought the body representation angle might connect with your own work.

If there’s any way to lock down the fall schedule today (or as soon as possible), it would let us share it with our community ahead of time and get posters made to put up at the studio in advance.

Looking forward to all of it.

Patrick

Sent to Nicholas separately to flag the email and propose the meeting privately:

Hey Nicholas, I just sent you an email about booking in our fall Practice Sessions at Proto, wanted to let you know it’s in your inbox.

Separately: I’d also like to find time to sit down with you at the studio on a weekday over the next couple of weeks. I’d like to hear more about all of what you’ve been doing over the years, and tell you a bit more about our initiatives. And related, I’d also like to discuss possible dates and times to have you as a guest on our podcast, ideally filming at Proto Studio, since the backdrop makes the most sense for what you’re doing. Let me know what your availability looks like.
