Collaborations Directory

Created 2026-02-13

This directory houses all ongoing and potential collaboration projects for Baseworks.

Venue collaborations are organized by country. Each organization gets its own subfolder under its country, with a main overview file plus emails/resources. Cross-cutting outreach projects (not tied to one venue/country) stay at the top level.

Each organization is a distinct entity and must stay in its own folder — do not mix organizations (e.g. Proto Studio and DOCK 11) into the same file or folder.

Greece — Mike Rafail / That Long Black Cloud (Thessaloniki) — contact, not a defined collaboration

Section titled “Greece — Mike Rafail / That Long Black Cloud (Thessaloniki) — contact, not a defined collaboration”

Reconnection communication with Mike Rafail, a Thessaloniki-based designer/creative director (Fighting Monkey visual identity, Kalamata International Dance Festival, own studio That Long Black Cloud). No collaboration is scoped or proposed — this is a personal contact who inspired Patrick and Asia, tracked here because it’s also relevant to the ongoing Europe relocation decision (Athens/Thessaloniki under consideration as a base).

Status: Reconnection email sent 2026-07-27, asking for his read on whether Athens or Thessaloniki fits, and to schedule a call.

Key Files (greece/mike-rafail-that-long-black-cloud/): mike-rafail-communication.md, email-reconnect-2026-07-27.md. See Greece Collaborations.

Photography-Videography 2026 (cross-cutting)

Section titled “Photography-Videography 2026 (cross-cutting)”

Documentation collaboration with Montreal photography/film students for the 2026 programs. Kept at the top level as an outreach project rather than a single-venue collaboration.

Key Files: photography-videography-2026/

This structure is designed to scale. Potential future collaboration categories might include:

  • Neuroscience research partnerships
  • Educational institution partnerships
  • Content creation collaborations
  • Technology/platform partnerships
  1. Create new collaboration directory when initiating a new collaboration type
  2. Use main project file to track overall goals, timeline, status
  3. Store templates for reusable communication materials
  4. Track contacts systematically to avoid duplicate outreach
  5. Document decisions and communication in project files for team visibility

Files in this directory are shared with team members (Ksenia, Asia, etc.) through Obsidian vault. Templates and contact lists should be kept updated as collaboration work progresses.
