In forms with spinal flexion-extension-flexion dynamics, INFLECT focus is about the details of these spinal movements — the fine-grained control of each phase of the flexion-extension cycle.

Example sequence: From a cross-legged position, lean back (arms forward). While gripping the edges of the feet forward, roll forward, rounding the spine (flexed upper spine). Then — keeping the lower back/pelvis in position — begin to extend the upper spine and open the shoulders until the spine is straight and the upper body becomes flat (extended upper spine). Then: chin in, begin to flex the upper spine again. When flexion is maximal, begin to tilt the pelvis back, allowing the flexed upper body to follow.
