DOCK 11 is a dance and performance venue in Berlin, used (or planned) as the venue for a Baseworks educational event in Germany — the Berlin Study Lab. Separate organization from Proto Studio (Canada); kept in its own country folder.

Booking History

  • A Baseworks educational event was booked in DOCK 11 Saal 1 for October 24–25, 2026.
  • A separate extra hold existed for the weekend of November 7–8, 2026 (Katja flagged it on 2025-10-16; Patrick replied 2025-11-05). Resolved in that earlier exchange.

2026-07-03 — Cancellation + reschedule to 2027

The Oct 24–25, 2026 booking is being cancelled. Reason: Baseworks is relocating to Europe at the beginning of December 2026 (academic opportunities that require a European base to build out the research-based applications of the method). A trip to Berlin a few weeks before the move is not logistically feasible.

Rather than a straight cancellation, the ask is to reschedule the event to 2027, in either of two windows: late spring (April/May) 2027 or late October through mid-November 2027. Katja to confirm what’s available in either timeframe.

Offer made in the email:

  • Happy to pay the full cost for the Oct 24–25, 2026 weekend if the cancellation creates a scheduling conflict for DOCK 11 (Katja to invoice).

2026-07 — Working out 2027 availability

The reschedule was accepted, and the two sides are narrowing down a 2027 weekend:

  • Katja (2026-07-06): Reschedule is fine, slots are open. Offered the same studio, EDEN 190 OG, for a spring 2027 weekend.
  • Baseworks (2026-07-07): Also asked to check the October 2027 time frame; still considering both spring and fall.
  • Katja (2026-07-08): At the moment the only fall option is 30–31 October 2027 in Studio 150.2 (135 sqm), same price. This studio is at the EDEN location (Breite Strasse 43, Pankow).
  • Baseworks (2026-07-08, sent): Asked whether any studio at the DOCK 11 / Kastanienallee 79 location (Saal 1–4) is available on any weekend in October or November 2027. See Reply to Katja — Kastanienallee Availability.
