(Yoga no Subetega Wakaru Hon — “The Book That Tells You Everything About Yoga”) Issue: 2006/11 Language: Japanese NAS path: New/yoganosubete/2006_11_yoganosubete.pdf Format: Multi-contributor opinion feature, p.153; Patrick is one of five contributors

“Yoga and Peace — If the number of yoga practitioners increases, will the world become peaceful? Or will nothing change?”

All five answered “Yes.” Each was given a one-line headline and a short paragraph:

One’s own inner peace becomes the foundation”

“Let’s start as soon as possible!!”

  4. Leza Lowitz — Sun&Moon Yoga 「地球の万物はつながっている」 “All things on Earth are connected”

“Yoga is a peace movement toward one’s own self!”

“As physical yoga practice deepens awareness, it allows you to find greater freedom of choice in life, and those choices connect directly to living in better environments. Better environments require an increase in individual self-responsibility. It is precisely the cultivation of self-responsibility — a key element of yoga — that connects to collective world peace. Self-growth through the positive challenges of urban life is also important for living peacefully. Peace begins with self-analysis.”

  • Scene positioning: Patrick among five leading Japanese yoga figures — Ken Harakuma (IYC), Leza Lowitz (Sun & Moon Yoga), Junko Tomonaga (Tomonaga Yoga Academy), Kyoko Hashimoto (Japan Fitness Yoga Association). His inclusion at this level confirms standing in the Tokyo yoga scene by late 2006
  • Patrick’s argument: physical practice → awareness → better choices → individual self-responsibility → collective peace → peace begins with self-analysis. Consistent with the philosophy thread running through earlier articles
  • Publication format: comprehensive yoga guide book, not a periodical magazine; likely a special or annual edition

Transcribed from PDF scan at 150 DPI. Single-page multi-respondent feature on the theme of yoga and world peace. Patrick gives the first response. Layout includes illustrated earth artwork. Body text responses are partially legible.
