Current Programming Direction

This note documents Baseworks’ current programming focus and the position on professional development and instructor certification, for reference across communications, CE inquiries, and program planning.

Current Baseworks programming is organized around practical access: study groups, practice sessions, practice labs, and the Primer are designed for anyone interested in the work, regardless of professional background or teaching ambitions. These formats are the current priority.

This is the current focus, not a permanent ceiling.

Baseworks has a history of training instructors as part of the method’s iterative development. Approximately 100 instructors have been certified at various levels over the course of that work. This training was integral to developing the method itself, part of the extended research and refinement process, rather than a standalone commercial program.

See: baseworks.com/instructors

Current programming does not include instructor certification. This reflects current programming priorities, not a permanent decision about what Baseworks will offer.

On the current status of previously certified instructors

Section titled “On the current status of previously certified instructors”

The instructors listed on the instructors page were certified under earlier iterations of the method. Most have not had access to continuing education since their original certification, and the method has continued to develop significantly since then — including updated terminology, reformed approaches to delivering the material, and a different overall programming structure.

Someone practicing with a previously certified instructor today would not necessarily encounter the version of Baseworks that current programs deliver. Those instructors are not being actively coordinated with or presented as delivery points for current programming.

The intention, as new programmatic material is developed, is to create a continuing education pathway that invites previously certified instructors to update their training and reconnect with the current approach. Until that exists, previously certified instructors and current Baseworks programming should be understood as separate things.

Professional development and instructor programs remain a possible future direction. If offered, they would be structured differently from current formats, with requirements around full participation and a level of commitment that makes certification meaningful. Any such program would be clearly designated as a professional development program from the start.

Baseworks is not positioned as a continuing education provider within any professional credentialing framework. This is intentional, not a bureaucratic oversight. See the Communications Guide — Certification & Continuing Education section for the full position and handling protocol, and Any Guay — Continuing Education Certificate Inquiry for the reference case.
