Director Patrick Oancia named his studio YogaJaya — Sanskrit for “union vanquishes” — to literally represent the way yoga helped him overcome the limiting factors in his life and move forward. The start of this new year brings a great opportunity to embody that philosophy: YogaJaya will be offering the Yoga Arts Level 1 Introduction to Yoga Teacher Training, a month-long program designed to give experienced practitioners the qualifications to teach or simply deepen their practice through this practical course.
The course offers a broad mix of theory including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar and other Hatha styles, plus instruction in adjusting skills, prop usage, teaching skills, yoga philosophy, anatomy, meditation and breath control. The course is recognised by 200 hours with the Yoga Alliance. Following successful completion of the Yoga Arts Level 1 course, interested students can continue on to pursue teacher certification at higher levels.
YogaJaya is conveniently located within the Las Chicas/Vision Network compound in Aoyama, offering English and Japanese classes and hosting an array of top-caliber teachers from around the world.
