Archival note. This document preserves the invitation templates, guest proposals, and production process documentation for the Baseworks Transmission podcast. It predates the current voice conventions and is preserved as a reference. Do not reuse this copy for tone or framing — all new outreach should follow the voice guides at 03-resources/voice-guides/.

Baseworks Transmission Conversations is the Baseworks podcast exploring concrete and abstract realizations that emerge from a commitment to practice or pursuit. Episodes feature specialists from various disciplines — athletes, performance artists, educators, scientists, and people who have dedicated extended periods to working in nature.

Production platform: Riverside FM (not Zoom — for separate channel recording and higher quality) Episode length: 60–90 minutes Hosts: Patrick Oancia (EN), Asia Ksenia Shcherbakova (EN/research), Satoko Horie (JP)

The proposals document contained outreach for potential guests. Two complete proposals are preserved below as examples of how the podcast was positioned to academic and research contacts.

  • Perceptual categories
  • The concept of affordance, context-based “fluidity” of affordances, and body-imposed physical constraints on affordances

  • Sensorimotor metaphors in cultural/social interactions
  • Bilingualism, trilingualism, language interference and attrition
  • Psychosocial interventions for people with dementia

Affiliation: Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf Project: proprioceptive.art

Proposed topics:

  • Proprioceptive Art as a concept
  • The lived embodied experience as proprioceptive experience
  • Varying “sensory resolution” and capacity for proprioceptive conscious awareness
  • Whether Baseworks Meta (educational visualization format) qualifies as “Proprioceptive Art”

Affiliation: McGill University Email in proposals doc (no detailed proposal text was drafted beyond the listing)

Three versions exist, each tailored to different hosts and contexts.

Informal, personal tone. Emphasizes the experiential and reflective nature of the project. Suggests recording in non-studio environments (bike shop, workshop, outdoors). References the Transmission launch with the Yuval Ayalon episode.

Key framing: “the concrete and abstract realizations that emerge from a commitment to any kind of practice or pursuit to achieve life goals.” Production described as “carefully curated roster of collaborators from different, not always so obvious backgrounds.”

Japanese translation of the core template, adapted for Satoko Horie as host for the Japanese-language Transmission series. Same structure: who we are, proposal, format, tech, outcome. Mentions that English episodes are already being produced by Patrick and that Satoko will host the Japanese conversations.

More formal, research-oriented version for academic contacts. Includes detailed research context (Asia’s neuroscience background, Baseworks as a research platform). Structured topic proposals with space for guest input. References specific papers and research areas to establish credibility. Technical requirements section emphasizes quality standards.

Key addition: “We see this podcast as a form of collaboration with the final goal of making important topics which may be a little too abstract (requiring too many unique categories for understanding) more accessible for the general audience.”

One conversation between Craig Constantine and Patrick Oancia was cross-posted. Originally released on the Movers Mindset members platform on April 9, 2020, then reposted when Craig deactivated the platform and launched a new public podcast on June 15, 2023.

Topics covered: Balancing structure and chaos in movement practices, the concept of structure as a foundation with room for exploration, references to Steven Kotler (flow state) and Alan Watts, and embracing multiple methods and perspectives in movement practices.
