Hey! I just saw an ad for baseworks that included an image of someone from our group. I just wanted to check that our images are only being used with consent. I am a public figure and I don’t want images of me used in Baseworks advertising.

Hi. I didn’t realize that I had signed that. I do not give my consent and I do not want my photos used. I think if you are planning to use our images you should verbally indicate that that is on the form. Otherwise it feels very sneaky. It will be damaging to my career if my image is used that way. So again, please do not use my image in your advertising.

@clementinemorrigan It was made very clear, both times the photographer was at the studio to take pictures, that we would not appear on the pictures if we did not want to. Technology is great, that way.

@clementinemorrigan Nothing about our process is intended to be sneaky or misleading — the three-step consent process exists specifically to ensure transparency. The media release is one section of a broader participation waiver that covers assumption of risk, medical disclosure, personal responsibility, and liability. It is presented clearly and requires a signature before anyone can participate.

As @mimi.robert.trudel noted, the on-site step was clearly communicated during both sessions in which focused photography took place. You were not present at either of those sessions, which is why you may not have experienced that part of the process directly.

We understand that participation forms cover a lot of ground, and that individual sections can be overlooked. That is exactly why we have three separate steps rather than one — so that there are multiple opportunities to raise preferences before any filming begins.

To be clear: you do not appear in any of the focused photography or video from this cohort. We acknowledge your preference and will respect it in all current and future materials.

@patrick thank you for the clarity! Sorry I didn’t read the whole linked policy, as it was a lot of info and I was feeling very anxious about the situation. Since I knew the sessions had been filmed, I was worried the images were coming from there. I see I misunderstood. Thanks for clarifying.

J’ai aussi une petite question : sur la plate-forme, ça dit que j’ai accès jusqu’au 17 avril. Mais nous avions eu l’information que si on complétaient la formation, nous aurions accès pendant une année de plus ? Est-ce que je dois compléter avant le 1er avril ou avant le 17 ?
