The movement seems to be initiated by hinging at the hips and the knees follow. By keeping the kness over the ankles, the main movement is in hinging at the hips. I’m not sure what the shoulders down movement was supposed to add. This is similar to “chair pose” in yoga, and the hinging of the hips is something I do in resistance training dead lift. It is good to feel the relationship between the knees hinging and the hips hinging. It mioght be possible to lead with the knees rather than the hips.
