Biology of body awareness — podcast feature

Asia Shcherbakova had the pleasure of being featured on the newest episode of Matan Levkowich’s podcast Material for the Brain.

In the conversation they talked about her recovery from epilepsy through dance and how her background as a biologist affected the way she approached it.

The discussion also explored how individual stories and ideas affect a pedagogical approach and actual experiences in movement.

The topic of body awareness was also touched on relating to how different modalities used come together and how it reveals differences in our understanding of the topic.

Baseworks developments

Our long hiatus from sending our regular emails was due in part to a deep phase of R&D and the rebuilding of the Baseworks site. Check out the Neuroscience of Baseworks and Physical Intelligence pages of the Baseworks site to get a glimpse of these developments.

New website and in-person events

We rebuilt the Baseworks website and started the planning of the restart of our in-person events from 2023 onward in North America, Europe, South America and Europe. Details of these will appear on our events page and in upcoming newsletters.

HCM Magazine feature — Patrick Oancia

Patrick Oancia was interviewed in HCM Magazine on what Baseworks is, what it is not, and what’s on the roadmap for our R&D. Read the interview.

Baseworks Practice Platform

If you are not already on it, check out the Baseworks Practice Platform. The educational material on the platform works in direct synergy with our in-person offerings.

First newsletter after a long hiatus (Estonia address still in the footer). References the public practice.baseworks.com URL directly — pre-dates the current rule to route externally via baseworks.com/practice/. “Physical Intelligence” is referenced as a dedicated page on the old site; this framing has since shifted (now b-roll, not hero). The Matan Levkowich podcast and HCM interview would make good candidates for future podcast/press index entries if those indexes get built.
