Voice Guides — README

This folder contains the Baseworks writing and communication voice guides. They are the shared reference for all Claude-assisted writing across programs, website, email, and participant communications.

How to Load These Guides in Claude Desktop / Claude Code

Patrick (this machine)

Add the following to your global ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md:

## Voice & Writing
For any copy, messaging, or communication task, read:
~/Obsidian/baseworks-kb-shared-brain/03-resources/voice-guides/VOICE-GUIDE-UNIFIED.md
~/Obsidian/baseworks-kb-shared-brain/03-resources/voice-guides/VOICE-GUIDE-PATRICK.md

Or tell Claude at the start of a writing session:

“Read the voice guides in ~/Obsidian/baseworks-kb-shared-brain/03-resources/voice-guides/ before we work on any copy.”

Ksenia (her machine)

Same approach — adjust the path to match your local Obsidian vault location. The vault is synced via Obsidian Sync, so the files are identical. Load VOICE-GUIDE-UNIFIED.md and VOICE-GUIDE-KSENIA-ASIA.md for your sessions.

In baseworks-changelog sessions (both)

The CLAUDE-INSTRUCTIONS.md at the root of the changelog repo references these guides. Any session that starts by loading CLAUDE-INSTRUCTIONS.md will know to use them.

When to Use Which Guide

• Any writing task → start with VOICE-GUIDE-UNIFIED.md
• Writing as Patrick (emails, messages, copy attributed to Patrick) → also load VOICE-GUIDE-PATRICK.md
• Writing as Ksenia (emails, messages, copy attributed to Ksenia) → also load VOICE-GUIDE-KSENIA-ASIA.md
• Proposing a change to any guide → read VOICE-GUIDE-GOVERNANCE.md first

Governance Summary

Changes to these guides require confirmation from both Patrick and Ksenia before they are applied. See VOICE-GUIDE-GOVERNANCE.md for the full process.

Updates to VOICE-GUIDE-UNIFIED.md affect everyone and require both people to confirm. Updates to VOICE-GUIDE-PATRICK.md or VOICE-GUIDE-KSENIA-ASIA.md only require the relevant person to confirm, unless the change reflects something that should move to the unified guide.
