Reference for translating Baseworks content into Japanese. Load this file whenever producing or reviewing a Japanese translation of any Baseworks content.

This document is a living reference — add corrections and confirmed terms as they are reviewed and approved by Asia.

When producing a Japanese translation:

  1. Load this file before starting
  2. Apply all confirmed terms from the vocabulary below
  3. Flag any terms not yet listed here for Asia’s review
  4. After review, add confirmed corrections to this file

  • Use a formal but accessible register — academic enough for a neuroscience audience, but not impenetrable to a general reader
  • Avoid overly casual expressions; avoid overly stiff bureaucratic phrasing
  • Sentence structure: Japanese academic writing favors longer sentences with subordinate clauses; this is appropriate here
  • First person: when Baseworks speaks as an organization, use 私たち (watashitachi) — not 弊社 (heisha, too corporate) and not 我々 (wareware, too formal/masculine)

  • Section headings: translate into Japanese (e.g., “The Research” → 「研究内容」, “About BRNet” → 「BRNetについて」, “Previous Presentations” → 「過去の発表」, “Presenter” → 「発表者」)
  • Bold terms (the three components): keep the English term in parentheses after the Japanese — e.g., 固有感覚意識(Proprioceptive Awareness)
  • Links: use the same URLs as the English version; link text should be translated naturally
  • Dates: use Japanese date format where natural — e.g., 2026年6月8日〜9日; or keep Western format if it reads more naturally in context

Items from the BRNet 2026 event post translation that Asia is reviewing:

  • All three component names (proprioceptive/spatial/interoceptive awareness)
  • “communicability” → 伝達可能性
  • Register of the Research section overall

Asia will add corrections below; each confirmed item gets moved to the relevant table above.
