How to Use

Register & Tone
Section titled “Register & Tone”- Use a formal but accessible register — academic enough for a neuroscience audience, but not impenetrable to a general reader
- Avoid overly casual expressions; avoid overly stiff bureaucratic phrasing
- Sentence structure: Japanese academic writing favors longer sentences with subordinate clauses; this is appropriate here
- First person: when Baseworks speaks as an organization, use 私たち (watashitachi) — not 弊社 (heisha, too corporate) and not 我々 (wareware, too formal/masculine)
| English | Japanese rendering | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Asia Shcherbakova | アーシャ・シェルバコーワ | Standard katakana transcription |
| Asia (Ksenia) Shcherbakova | アーシャ(キセニア)シェルバコーワ | Use in first mention where both names appear |
| Patrick Oancia | パトリック・オアンシア | |
| Baseworks | Baseworks | Do not translate — keep as-is in all contexts |
Add corrections here as they are identified.
