Hello, everyone.
There’s been an accident on Pine avenue, and we are blocked, the traffic is being redirected. We may be late due to this.
Since we technically have the space booked until 14:30 for this session, if everybody’s up for it, we can extend the planned finishing time to ensure we have the full session.
See you soon.
Nathalie — 2026-05-02
Sure!
Patrick — 2026-05-02
@nathalie.dore @james.murray we are going to start now. Please join in when you arrive!
Nathalie — 2026-05-02
The doors are locked. We are waiting for someone to open or leave.

Session 5 Summary: Transit and the Catch-Up
Saturday’s session covered the most material of any session so far: six new forms, the Transit focus applied to the standing review, all three types of Intensity Modification visible in a single session, and circumlinear motion as a thread connecting the lunge work to the supine leg raises. The reason we were able to move through all of this is that everyone who attended had completed their assignments in full. That shared backdrop is what makes the density workable.
The full summary is here: https://practice.baseworks.com/groups/montreal-study-group-spring-2026-cohort/forum/discussion/session-5-summary-transit-and-the-catch-up/
It covers the Transit-focused standing review (Star Tilt, Front Lunge Extension, Front Lunge Torsion run as a connected sequence), Split Form Inflection and both Seated Inflections (the flexion-extension-flexion spinal pattern), Z-Lunge and Z Expansion C-Tuck, Supine Leg Raises, the circumlinear rib-cage dynamic in the lunge, and the discussion on joint space as a byproduct of the activation patterns.
Three forms were deferred to Session 6: Horizontal Shoulder Flex, Plank, and Press-Up. We’ll also return to Assimilation, which was cut for time this week.
Next Assignment (for Session 6, Saturday May 9, 12:10-1:50 PM, Studio 2): Complete Segment 5, lessons 5.5-5.8 (Key Points and Applied Practice Labs for Reclining Transition and Equate). Total time for new material: approximately 27 minutes.
If everyone can arrive on Saturday having completed this assignment (and any earlier segments still pending), we stay in a position to cover everything that’s planned, including the three carry-forward forms.

Session 6 Summary — Equate and Opposition of Forces
The Session 6 summary is in the forum:
Saturday’s session moved with minimal interruption through the full set of forms due at this point in the program. The summary covers the opposition of forces as the mechanism for Distributed Activation in the Equate block (Horizontal Shoulder Flex, Shoulder Rotation), the lean-back foundation that applies throughout those forms, the connection between V-Sit and Peak Hold as analogous dynamics, and the Q&A on interoceptive sensitivity and jaw tension during practice.
Session 7 is the final session. There’s no assignment after it.
It’s worth checking your course expiry date before then. If you complete the Primer within that window, your access extends automatically to one year. You can then continue through the material at your own pace in any order, using Smart Revisit.
For thinking about the practice after the program ends, the practice sessions page is a useful starting point: https://baseworks.com/montreal-practice-sessions/
Anything that’s come up between now and Session 7 is worth raising at the session.

Session 7 Summary: Full Practice and What Comes Next
The Session 7 summary is in the forum:
Session 7 was the final in-person session. It ran as a full practice review from Ignition through Assimilation, with directional cues only. The summary covers what was practiced across all forms, the key concepts from the session (including FSA as the through-line connecting the seated inflections to the standing forms), common adjustments, the closing discussion on practice structure and sensory education, and the next steps for continuing with the practice sessions and the Primer.
Practice sessions run every Saturday through the end of June. Information and booking are on the practice sessions page: https://baseworks.com/montreal-practice-sessions/
The remaining Primer segments (6 through 10) are available at your own pace. Check your access window deadline on your dashboard.
